A Christmas Celebration on Lake Wylie

Handsmill

Bright colorful lights, festive good cheer, and of course Santa Claus made the 28th Annual Lights on the Lake Boat Parade and Christmas by the Lake a fun-filled evening for local families.

These beautiful photos from The Herald show the wonderful commitment to this glorious tradition in the close-knit community.

This year’s event even had its challenges with low lake levels, but that would not damper the holiday spirit as brightly decorated boats lit up a glistening Lake Wylie.

While the boat lights dazzled the lake, those on shore celebrated with delicious treats such as hot cocoa, s’mores, and hot cider, all of which was generously provided by local churches.

“It was a huge success and families really enjoyed the music, the boat lights, and the homemade treats provided by the local churches”, says Lisa Jubenville of the Lake Wylie Chamber of Commerce.

Even Santa and Mrs. Claus showed up to enjoy the festive atmosphere!

One of the magical events of the celebration was the live nativity scene. It was amazing!

And of course you cannot have a Christmas celebration without the blissful sounds of a children’s choir.

The residents of Handsmill on Lake Wylie appreciate the organizers, especially the local churches, who truly came together to make this year’s celebration special with treats, music, donated tents, even fire pits to keep everyone toasty! And the beautifully decorating boats on Lake Wylie were spectacular!

Happy holidays from Handsmill on Lake Wylie.
